My journey with movement began when I was just an adolescent. All I did in my early teen years was live a primarily sedentary lifestyle. At just 16 years old, I weighed 244 lbs. due to unhealthy activity levels and poor dietary choices. I lived with lower back pain, low energy levels, and low self-esteem. This was the worst I have ever felt physically.
Once I felt like I had hit rock bottom with my health, I found the courage to become active. I found myself going for runs and doing strength training to help myself lose weight. While, after some time, I accomplished my goal to lose weight and achieve an aesthetic look, I still found myself in bouts of daily pain and discomfort. Unfortunately, before I graduated high school, I ended up blowing out my back by performing a powerlift.
Even though I knew that I found enjoyment in exercise and had an understanding of how the body works based on my own experiences, I still couldn't stop the discomfort I was in. After high school, I attended Penn State University and graduated with a B.S. in Kinesiology. During my time at Penn State University, I discovered the GOATA Locomotion System (GLS), founded by Coach Gil and developed by the GLS Training Facility. This system is the study of human movement patterns that are presented during forward locomotion and rest among the most durable humans in the world. Training under this system, I was able to eliminate my back pain and any other discomfort I was feeling due to excessive weight training and a sedentary lifestyle. Being able to run and perform pain-free was something I felt I could never achieve.
The GOATA Locomotive System is by far the best modern day training system, which is why I decided to become a certified GOATA Coach. On June 27th, 2022, I became certified as a GOATA Coach at the GLS Training Facility in New Orleans, Louisiana. Master GOATA Coaches Jose Guilly Boesch, Gary Scheffler, and Ricky Stanzi trained and mentored me there. With this knowledge, I am able to see exactly how the human body's innate design was supposed to be used; something that no other system can give you.
The fundamentals at Free Flow Training (FFT) will always be the same. Take care of your foundation! With a dysfunctional foundation, you can not have a functional house. The same goes for the body. Healthy movement and rest should always be prioritized above everything else when it comes to being a functional athlete or nonathlete.
You will gain the ability to live and train in healthy movement patterns by training with FFT. These movement patterns derive from mother nature itself. You will not only develop the ability to be pain-free, but you will also develop strength and injury resilience. I focus on training you exactly as the universe intended, through efficient forward locomotive training and holistic recovery methods.
With slow motion video technology, I will be able to help you achieve your goals by assessing and training GOATA patterns in your everyday life. Together we can improve our bodies' longevity to go the distance.
